A Little Advice
Giving any old gift is easy - go into your local shop and buy a box of chocolates. The trouble is, it shows very little time, thought or effort was put into the gift selection.
Choosing the right gift is always difficult and time consuming. But it is very important.
- First of all, decide if the gift is to be a surprise - if not, you can always ask the recipient. Otherwise you are going to have to do some investigation into what they would like.
- Do they have a hobby? For crafters check out the Internet Craft Fair and for stitchers try the Needlecraft Fair
- Would someone else know what they would like?
- Make a list of all the things you know about them and their lifestyle.
- Is there anything that they would like to do but as yet haven't tried.
Armed with your list of ideas, head for the Gift Fair to see what you can find.
If all else fails (and we all have someone who has everything or who never likes what they are given), how about an I.O.U. or certificate for something that would be appreciated.
A romantic meal for two
Dish Washing for the next week
Cutting the grass for two months
Even a promise to write a weekly letter to a distant or elderly relative.
Minding someone's children for a weekend so they can get away by themselves.
